Common Ground for the Environment

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Environmental Alliance is an association of environmental non-profits, non-governmental organizations and other groups using science and research to develop common ground promoting the environment, business, government and people. Using a unified voice, we support individuals and organizations to develop strategies to ensure a healthy global environment.

As young people see it today, there is a concern for the future and a grassroots need to act in unison for the environment. The prevailing perception was that the United Nations would develop effective programs for the environmental movement. Geopolitical considerations have affected their ability to implement successful programs.

The onus has fallen on to non-profits working with national and local governmental entities to develop programs for the protection of the environment.

New research indicates the environment is degrading at a faster rate than previously predicted which is making it more difficult for the preservation of the environment. This complicates the efforts of the environmental movement, as it is now, to respond effectively. Thus, a long term solution is required to address this immediate situation.

SOLUTION

The solution is an organization providing a unified voice addressing dominant environmental issues. The Alliance will use a structured approach in conjunction with local, national and global organizations with the express purpose of achieving common goals. These goals would be difficult to attain through individual environmental channels.

An environmental organization using standard channels with equitable goals and policies:

• Clean environment

• Conservation of land and water

• Protection of species

• Preservation of food systems

• A stable climate,

• Safe and efficient energy supplies

• Ubiquitous access to the outdoors

• Resilient urban systems

• Environmental justice and education

Goals

1. Establish independent funding

2. Engage effectively for environmental justice and equity

3. Enhance the voice of the environmental movement nationally and globally by enacting important, big picture concepts

Our goals are in alignment with the UN SDG’s.

Expectations

The Alliance will provide a seamless user experience, breaking industry news, facilitate engagement and interactions among organizations and work to provide the best conditions for the success of partner non-profits globally. We expect professional and passionate people about preserving the environment while working to meet on common ground.
